We’ve moved. Since 6 October 2026, Southern Ropes UK has been operating from a single, larger site at 21 Wingate Road, Gosport. More space, more stock and a simpler operation, all with one aim: getting the right rope to you faster. Here’s why we made the move and what it means for you.

Why we moved
The short answer is that we’d outgrown our old home. Southern Ropes UK is a family-run business that has grown steadily, and demand for our products and services kept rising. Our operations had been spread across two separate locations, which worked up to a point, but it meant stock and activity were split when they’d be better together.
The new facility is a 41,000 sq ft site, including 21,000 sq ft of warehouse and operational space, and it has let us consolidate everything into a single location.[1] The investment was backed by Barclays Business Bank, and we’re grateful for their support.[1]

What it means for our customers
More stock, ready to go. The larger warehouse increases our stockholding capacity. For a business carrying more than 2,000 product lines, that means more depth on the lines you reorder and more room to hold the ranges you only need occasionally but need quickly when you do.
Faster, simpler service. With stock and operations in one place instead of two, there’s less handling between sites and fewer places for an order to wait. Consolidating creates efficiencies across the business, and the point of those efficiencies is to turn your order around faster.
Room to grow with you. Customers don’t only want us to keep up today; they want to know we can handle larger and more varied orders next year. The extra capacity gives us space to support future expansion while improving service levels for customers in the UK and overseas.
The same range across every sector. We supply commercial and leisure marine, military and defence, rope access, energy, agriculture, heavy lifting, and film, theatre and staging customers. One better-organised site means all of those ranges benefit from the same improvements, not just the busiest ones.
