Walking into the show, we weren’t sure quite what to expect but it didn’t take long to see why this event has such a strong reputation. The IMPA community is welcoming, close-knit, and, as we quickly discovered, never shy of sharing a drink and a story.
Another big takeaway was the growing focus on procurement technology. From digital platforms to smarter data management, the tools shaping this sector are evolving quickly, and it’s exciting to think about how rope supply can integrate more seamlessly into these systems.
Sustainability was also front of mind. We had great conversations about waste rope recycling and how we, as a manufacturer, can continue to improve our approach to environmental responsibility.
Exhibiting at IMPA London gave us the chance to reflect on the value Southern Ropes brings to the marine sector. With our wide range of high-performance ropes, from mooring to towing to on-board safety, we have a lot to offer procurement teams who are looking for reliable, durable, and sustainable solutions.
But beyond products, the event was about connection. We listened to the challenges buyers face, shared our own experiences, and built relationships that will help us serve the marine community better.
Our first IMPA London was a huge success, not because of stands or brochures, but because of the people we met and the conversations we had. We left with new ideas, new contacts, and a renewed sense of how Southern Ropes can contribute to the future of marine procurement.
We’ll definitely be back. Until then, a big thank you to the IMPA community for making us feel right at home. See you next year!
